San Jose-Silicon Valley

San Jose better known as “The Capital of Silicon Valley” is a world class city, 3rd largest in California and 10th largest in USA. On offer is a high quality of life coupled with the best educational, literary, art and entertainment opportunities in the world. Mild and pleasant climates as well as an excellent public safety record make it an attractive destination.

Jose Joaquín Moraga discovered El Pueblo de San José de Guadalupe in 1777 at the crossway of the current locations of West Taylor Street and Guadalupe Parkway. In  1797, the town shifted to Plaza Pueblo and San Jose emerged around this town. Ralph Vaerst conceived the term Silicon Valley but it was first used by his friend Don Hoefler . Located in the midst of the Silicon Valley, San Jose houses the headquarters of  the crème de la crème of tech companies such as Adobe, Cisco , Google, Yahoo, HP to name a few!

There is always something to do at San Jose at any given time of the day. If you are a fan of amusement parks, San Jose is the place to be. California's Great America amusement park is a fun filled family package offering a bunch of exciting rides and roller coasters , the Boomberg water park and thrilling live shows. Raging waters is a complete water park perfect to chill out at in summers. Tee off at Golfland while your kids enjoy the water slides and arcade there. Treat your ears to melodious Chicano/Latino music at Teatro Vision, which has been around for over 25 years. The Tech Museum and San Jose Museum of art are a must-see for everyone. Another must-see is the Winchester Mystery House, an apparently ‘haunted house’ replete with mazes and unending staircases and other mystifying things. San Jose is renowned for its live music scene. Indeed there is no dearth of music festivals and local nightly live shows. All this combined with an amazing amount of nightclubs makes for a very pulsating nightlife. Caravan, Cinebar and 7 Bamboo are some of the best dive bars in the city. Put on your dancing shoes and head over to one of WET nightclub, Sabor, Brix or any one of the countless dance clubs in the city.

Last but not the least; do check out the sprawling campus of Stanford University, one of the top class academic institutions in the world. The second largest university in the world, there are some remarkable landmarks to see here such as Memorial Church, Main Quad, Angel of Grief, Arizona Cactus Garden and many more.
